The Life We Thought We Wanted
For years, we followed the normal path.
Study hard.
Find a good job.
Work every day.
Save money.
Wait for retirement.
On paper, everything looked fine.
Tee worked as an interior designer. Shuang worked as an auditor. We had stable careers, a comfortable life, and a clear future.
But deep inside, something felt missing.
Every year, we looked forward to our annual leave more than anything else.
Travel became the highlight of our lives.
We started asking ourselves a simple question:
What if we stopped waiting?
The Decision That Changed Everything
Quitting our jobs was not a sudden decision.
We spent years thinking about it.
We saved money.
We planned routes.
We researched visas, travel insurance, and budgets.
Most importantly, we asked ourselves:
If we don’t do this now, will we regret it later?
The answer was always yes.
One day, we finally made the decision.
We handed in our resignation letters.
It was exciting.
It was scary.
It was one of the biggest decisions we had ever made.
Why “Pistacado”?
Many people ask about our name.
Pistacado is a combination of two words:
Pista comes from Pistachio.
In Chinese, pistachio is called 开心果, which means “happy nut.”
That perfectly matches Shuang’s positive personality.
Cado comes from Avocado.
The shape of an avocado reminds Tee of himself — round, simple, and always thinking about food.
Together, Pistacado became the perfect name for our journey.
Our Goal
We are not luxury travelers.
We are not professional photographers.
We are not travel experts.
We are simply two introverts from Malaysia exploring the world.
Through this blog, we want to share:
- Real travel costs
- Hidden places
- Local food
- Travel mistakes
- Useful tips
- Honest stories
No filters.
No fake luxury lifestyle.
Just real experiences from the road.
Where We Are Going
Our journey will take us across more than 35 countries.
From Southeast Asia to Central Asia.
From Europe to North America.
From famous attractions to places most tourists never visit.
Some days will be amazing.
Some days will be difficult.
We want to share all of it.
Thank You
